Discipline – Sometimes considered a 4-letter word

Achieving a gold medal doesn’t just happen overnight and most Olympic athletes get one shot at getting that coveted gold medallion. A lifetime of hard work and commitment helped USA cyclist Kristin Armstrong win a Gold medal Wednesday, only two months after breaking her collar bone. The same goes for your online business, so take it seriously and stay steady at it.

Keeping your site well managed and up to date will help you gain a steady flow of interested customers.

For many business people translating ideas and concepts into blogs and social media posts is overwhelming and frustrating. Regular updates and communication not only educates and informs your customers,  but it also builds relationships and credibility. Many entrepreneurs are not “doers.” They are thinkers. If you are a thinker, then refer to the second post in this series and surround yourself with a well-managed and self-motivated team to carry out the day-to-day work to achieve your online objectives. If you are a doer, then prepare yourself with practice and a strategic plan of attack.  Discipline yourself to do weekly tasks such as updating your website, blogging, promoting new products, spreading the word about events and updating all those social media sites.

All these tasks can become a chore if you don’t have the right team and tools at your disposal. Which brings me to the next necessity.  Money!  Yes, I said it.  It does take money to make money, but it is your decision to decide how much money to spend. Learn more about the importance of budgets in the last post of this series.
